About Gift Aid

The Gift Aid scheme is a fantastic way to increase the value of your gifts to SIFT. For every £1 that you give, the Government will add an extra 25 pence in Gift Aid, at no extra cost to you!  We use the money that we receive from Gift Aid claims to help cover our administration costs.

How can I Gift Aid my donation?

If you are giving by cheque or standing order, please download a Gift Aid Declaration and return the completed form to the SIFT office.

Alternatively, if you are making an online donation to SIFT or buying a SIFT Gift online, then please tick the Gift Aid declaration checkbox on the form.

Please note that you need to pay more in Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax each tax year than the total amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your charitable donations.  For every £100 that you donate under the Gift Aid scheme you need to pay at least £25 in Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax.  To find out more about the Gift Aid scheme, please refer to this HMRC webpage.

If you change your address, please let us know so that we can keep your Gift Aid declaration up to date.  Also, if you would like to cancel your Gift Aid declaration, or if you no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains to enable us to claim Gift Aid, please let us know.
